We’ve all been hurt at some point or another….and we’ve all heard the saying ‘time heals all wounds.’ I believe that, to a certain extent, but I believe that love, not time, heals all wounds.
when I say love, I also mean forgiveness. choosing to let go of whatever hurt the other person bestowed upon you, and move on. the point to being stuck in the past is what? I had a conversation about that with one of my best friends, and he said it’s because we fear what’s in front of us which is so very true. We’re scared of the unknown. I’m not the best person at being able to move on, and not live today like it was yesterday. I hold grudges. I hold bitterness. I hold anger. (At least I have to the 4 strangers that broke me when I was 23 years old)
but I hold it in a different way…I bottle it up. I do not dare let anyone see it. I do this because I have the mindset that after so much time, it will all disappear…but it doesn’t.
Everyone’s heard of the ‘f’ word. and we’re all scared of it. We LOVE holding on to things others do. We love being able to bring up the past when we’re screaming at each other…”well , remember when THAT happened?” It’s a part of human nature. We feel better…it boosts our confidence amidst the argument. I could spend hours spilling my heart on how I feel about forgiveness & love. It’s taken me a long time to come to this realization for myself, a long time and believe me, I don’t always follow it. I believe in unconditional love. I will give one as many chances as one needs, because I believe that people come out from different situations changed…and I believe in giving them another chance…call me a fool, but I’ve been shown unconditional love, and as many 2nd chances as I need, and I’m willing to do that for you.
Forgiveness is the healing of wounds caused by another. You choose to let go of a past wrong and no longer be hurt by it. Forgiveness is a strong move to make, like turning your shoulders sideways to walk quickly on a crowded sidewalk. It’s your move.
