The Piranha of Your Heart

1fcafb64b0fdba1ca4b15ec1dead96d1

My heart looked through a straw,
Only seeing the innocence of my love for you.
Betrayal being your middle name, stopping my heart in slow motion.

I’d rather peel off every fingernail than to give you one last tear.

The best years are awaiting me.
Consider the home we built and bought a donation to the many coming in that master bedroom.
Memories are on your shoulders with every turn of the key to the front door.

Tears will forever pierce your eyes seeing those memories.
Hearing my laughter, seeing my smile, you will never be worthy again.
It will haunt you in your dreams.

You are just a scar I’ll carry on my heart that will never hear I love you.
Words forever lost by acts of meaningless sex that defines you pathetically.

Knowing you can never have me, drives my self-worth.
Saying no to you when you came back defined my strength.
You watching me leave will be the piranha of your heart.
My fingertips can drip blood every day as long as you’re my past.
