Four months ago,
you were a stranger.
Now,
my heart remembers you
before my mind can forget.
128 days—
gone in a breath,
yet somehow
they shifted something in me.
There are things in life
that take longer than this—
becoming, growing, learning—
and yet you were
a voice saying my name,
a laugh I still hear,
a touch I can’t unlearn.
I broke down barriers
built over years
to give you everything
you never asked to keep.
You gave me pieces—
answers that weren’t answers,
goodbyes that never stayed.
You told me this was temporary.
I just didn’t know
how permanent it would feel
when you were gone.
I asked you to let me go.
So I learned how
to do it myself.
Four months.
It passed too quickly—
and somehow,
not at all.
