Where Love Heals

Where love, heartbreak, and healing live in words

A Different Route

I drove past your street today.

Not by accident.

I took your exit—
let my body remember
what my mind was trying to forget.

I got close enough
to feel it.

Close enough
to know how easy
it would be
to turn left.

But I didn’t.

I turned right.

And that—
that felt like something.

You crossed my mind yesterday.

Your birthday.

I thought about reaching out.

I didn’t.

And today,
as I was thinking of you—

you texted.

For a moment,
I felt it again.

Not confusion.
Not hope.

Just the pull
of something
that used to feel like home.

But I know now—

I am not going back
to something
that asks me to shrink.

So I kept driving.

And even on the way back—

I didn’t turn.

Today,

I chose the road
that didn’t lead to you.

  1. I love your strength to keep driving… I love that WE are in this TOGETHER. No more shrinking.

    1. I don’t even know why I got off at the exit. Maybe it was a test by the universe hehe I found the strength to continue to say, “I’m not shrinking anymore,” and I am so happy we are in this together, too!! We are ONLY ACCEPTING what we DESERVE!! 🩷🩷🩷🫶🏻☺️

      2. Aww 🥰 I’m tired. That’s where the strength comes from. I want a love that accepts me completely and I can’t settle anymore. It’s exhausting

      3. I 100% feel this. Those types of relationships are exhausting. Real love should come naturally and honestly. I SEE you and I know your worth and value. There is some lucky guy out there and when you find him, I want to meet him!
